High Point Tennis Center opened to the public in 1978. Since then, this Plano Parks and Recreation facility has established a reputation for excellence throughout the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex. High Point offers 21 lighted, outdoor tennis courts and eight combination Pickleball-Quick Start tennis courts. (USTA's QuickStart Tennis program is geared toward young players ages five to ten. It is designed to bring kids to the game by utilizing smaller racquets, slower and lighter balls, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring.) Those interested in tennis may participate in group tennis classes (for youth, teens/adults), on-site leagues, workouts, mixers, and private lessons. Players may rent a court or a ball machine as well. Multiple men's, women's, and mixed doubles teams call High Point their "Home" for team competition organized by the Metroplex Tennis League, Tennis Competitors of Dallas, and USTA/Dallas Tennis Association. Adults (age 18 & up) who are interested in pickleball may register for classes, a weekend "Intro to Pickleball" Clinic, join an on-site adult pickleball league, participate in weekend "Paddle Battles," book a court or reserve a ball machine.
